CARE • ADVOCACY • SUPPORT

Our vision is that every child lives and develops in a safe, nurturing environment, free from maltreatment.

Hastings CAS currently has 200 foster families but with over 480 children in care it is imperative that this number increase. The agency is currently looking for foster families that are willing to open their homes to infants, 0-2 years of age and teen girls and boys. As much as we appreciate people contacting us wanting to foster young adolescents that is not where our current need is, our need is really these infants and older children.

The agency also has approximately 40 children available for adoption. Hastings CAS needs adoptive families who are willing to care for older children, youth and sibling groups.

The agency also needs families to provide long term care for children with special needs and families who can provide part time respite foster care.

There are a number of marketing initiatives currently underway that will help us reach potential foster parents everywhere in our catchment area including radio and print campaigns and community partnerships and special events.

Please review the accompanying brochure –What is Fostering & Adoption, as it will answer some of your initial questions regarding Hastings Children’s Aid Society and the process involved in becoming a foster or adoptive parent.

We hope that if you know someone who is contemplating fostering or adopting a child that you will encourage them to contact the agency and speak to an agency representative.

On behalf of Hastings CAS and our children in care, thank you!
